This guide is intended to answer the most common questions about The Wedding Collection ordering process.

Please read and refer to this information before submitting your order. 


Overview

1. / Browse and Order: Browse the collection gallery for inspiration to begin the order process. Add items to your Cart in the quantities required (You Choose) or request design options (We Choose). You can also browse and order embellishments and add-ons such as calligraphy addressing, silk ribbons, vintage stamps, illustrated pieces, and more. The designs shown are for reference - the calligraphy, typeface, layout, card stock, and print colours/method are all customisable for each piece ordered.

2. / Confirmation

Once your order is placed and reviewed (approx. 2-3 business days) I'll be in touch to discuss your choices and options, confirm your production time frame and external vendor timelines (if applicable). You will also be sent a link to the client portal where you can access your project documents, timeline, design proofs, and submit the wording for your suite pieces.

3. / Design

When all required information has been received and confirmed a digital design proof will be created for you (within 6-8 business days). Two digital revision rounds are included for minor changes to your text/calligraphy. Additional revisions incur a flat fee of USD$75.00 per round. Allow approx. 2 weeks for design depending on the scope of your suite.

4. / Production

Once approved your suite will go to print and production begins. The following time frames are typical: Digital printing requires 2-3 weeks, while letterpress/foil printing requires 3-4 weeks. Allow an additional 1-2 weeks for Add-ons/Embellishments (such as wax seals and/or calligraphy addressing). and for suites printed on handmade papers.

5. / Assembly & Shipping

Your order will be assembled (if applicable), packed, and weighed, and you will receive an invoice for shipping plus any additional charges agreed on/discussed during design and production. This invoice is payable prior to your goods being shipped. Once complete your order will be shipped with tracking and insurance.

All suites purchased through The Wedding Collection receive discounted calligraphy addressing.


Curated Suites vs Combination Separates

The Wedding Collection has been designed with customisation in mind, allowing you to create your ideal suite via the Collection Separates or save time by choosing one of the Collection's curated designs available in multiple configurations. For example, should you have your heart set on handmade paper but would prefer a lower price-point you might consider using handmade paper for your main invitation/envelope pieces only, with the remainder of your suite printed on fine-art house card stock.

Alternatively, the Collection's curated designs have already been combined for you in two, three, or four piece suites, and are ready for custom detailing and calligraphy to truly make them your own. Curated Suites are available in the following configurations:

Print methods

Fine Art Digital

Flat', or digital printing is the most cost effective and straight forward option for your suite generally with a faster turnaround time. Custom Crafted uses archival-quality Epson UltraChrome HD pigment inks for digital printing, producing accurate, fade-resistant colour on a range of beautiful fine art and handmade papers. Not available for metallic. White Digital is available for cut-edged papers on limited request, inquire for pricing.

This method is available with Standard, Heavy, and Handmade papers (house stocks, descriptions below).

Letterpress

The traditional print method dating back to mid-15th to 19th centuries, designs are re-produced onto plates to use with a vintage letterpress machine. Your design is pushed into the paper via the plate during the print run, resulting in the distinctive 'pillow'-like impression letterpress is known for. For metallic colors (in most cases) it's recommended that you choose foil, as metallic letterpress inks are muted when printed.

This method is available with Heavy and Handmade papers, various options can be accommodated.

Foil Stamping

Hot foil stamping uses heat, pressure, and various types of foil. To achieve a foil stamp, designs are re-produced onto a plate which comes into contact with the foil, where the heated metal die causes the foil to bond to the surface of the paper. The design is lightly imprinted for a beautiful, textured feel. Choose from the following: gold (shiny or matte), rose gold, copper, or silver. 

This method is available with Heavy and Handmade papers, various options can be accommodated.

Colors displayed on-screen vary depending on monitors and screen resolution, and the digital representation may not be exact. 

papers

Custom Crafted has sourced tried and tested, fine art papers for The Wedding Collection, and the print method chosen for your suite will generally determine the type of paper/paper weight(s) used for your pieces. The specific paper details for your order will be outlined during the design and proofing process. As a general rule, heavier paper stocks and/or multiple piece suites will increase the postage cost for mailing your invitations.

Classic Standard FSC® Certified/Green-e Certified, sustainable cover stock or 100% cotton. Available in a range of neutrals, this paper is a great all-rounder, it has a soft, lightly textured feel and works well with digital print methods. Weight range 110-179lb/300-484gsm.

Classic Heavy card stocks are either FSC® Certified/Green-e Certified, sustainable cover stock or 100% cotton, in various colours. This paper is up to twice the thickness of Standard stock making it ideal for deep letterpress and foil printing. Weight range 179-220lb/484-600gsm.

Handmade* with blends of cotton and linen. A beautiful, artisan paper with a subtle texture and beautifully fluffy deckled-edges. As with most handmade products, each sheet is different to the next with slight variations/irregularities in colour, size, and texture. Mid-weight.

Unless otherwise requested your main cards (Save The Date/Invitation) will be printed on Classic Heavy card stock, with your smaller inserts (Response Card/Details Insert/etc.) printed on Classic Standard card stock across all print methods.

Note: Heavy card stocks and multi-piece suites may increase the cost of your overall postage.

Handmade Colours

*Artisan papers and print methods are a perfect match when creating beautiful stationery, though the results can be a little unpredictable. Handmade paper will often have variations in shape and texture within the same batch, and paired with letterpress or foil stamping your stationery can sometimes be a little quirky and/or inconsistent. If you'd like to see samples of these papers and print methods please get in touch before ordering.

Physical paper samples are recommended and may be purchased here.
Custom paper colours may be accommodated if requested, additional costs apply. Please get in touch before ordering for timing and availability.

Ink colours will be matched as closely as possible however minor differences in shade and/or tone may occur.

Envelopes

Envelopes are included with all collection suite packages for applicable cards/inserts. Choose from a hand-selected range of quality, Euro-flap (pointed) envelopes. Alternative styles, colours, and vellum envelopes, may be available on request, inquire for details.

Handmade envelopes are not included with The Wedding Collection however they may be ordered in addition to your suite if requested and timing allows. Additional costs apply. Handmade envelopes are sourced and priced on availability and may extend your production timeline.

ENVELOPE PRINTING

Digital return addressing is included with all collection orders however you may choose to upgrade this to match your print method if preferred. Complimentary digital printing is limited to light, mid-range, and non-metallic envelope colours only. If you would like to discuss white digital ink or foil printing on mid-dark envelopes please get in touch before ordering for pricing and availability.

You also have the option to include digital and/or calligraphy guest addressing (front, main envelope/s) via the Add-ons and Embellishments section as part of the ordering process.


 

Wreath Styles

Each wreath includes corresponding floral details for each insert. Available with the Laurel suite only.

SAVE THE DATE

1. Title / Announcement

ie. Will you be including middle names or initials?

Generally your Save the Date will specify the City or State/Country of your wedding (as the venue may not yet be booked)

This can be in the form of boxes ("Yes" / "No") or phrases ("Gratefully Accepts" / "Regretfully Declines")
Don't be afraid to get creative with your response requests!

3. Final Note (optional)
Request additional information on your RSVP (such as special or dietary requirements, transport, etc.)

Points to Note

The Wedding Collection has been carefully designed and curated in the signature Custom Crafted style. Minor changes to formatting and layout may be accommodated while maintaining the overall design aspects of each suite, with your wording and/or calligraphy customised specifically for you and your event. By ordering from The Wedding Collection it is assumed that you are familiar with Custom Crafted’s calligraphy and design aesthetic and have viewed examples of our work either online, in person, or via our Sample Packs.

Calligraphy style(s) will be discussed during the design phase based on your preferences (eg. modern, flourished, whimsy, variations on letters, etc.).

Customisation requests above and beyond those available to order online may be accommodated if timing allows (eg. alternative paper stocks, adding bespoke design, multiple color letterpress, etc.), additional costs apply. Custom work requested after your order has been submitted may be discussed and approved on an as/when basis, and you will be invoiced for these services separately.
